This local landmark was built in 1883 by one of Traverse City’s earliest pioneers as a promise to his wife. Breakfast

A full service, gourmet breakfast is prepared for you daily. We serve local foods wherever possible. We cook with local, farm-fresh eggs, hormone-free Shetler Dairy, Michigan pork and beef from Ebel’s Grocery and fruits and vegetables from Altonen Orchard and our own garden. We also serve freshly roasted Higher Grounds coffees, a local company utilizing “Fair Trade” practices. Your breakfast is served in our dining room, family style, giving you an opportunity to socialize with other B&B guests, or you can request a private table in an adjoining room. We are happy to accommodate any special dietary needs you may have. Please advise us before your arrival.

Amenities

In addition to many lovely rooms for enjoying indoor activities, our Bed and Breakfast boasts seven acres of beautifully maintained grounds and a private pond. Love to fish? No need for a license. Bring your own pole or use one of ours to catch bass, catfish, or bluegill. Fishing not your thing, just kick back on our deck with a cool drink and enjoy the surrounding countryside.
